This  report  discusses  how  the  basic  water  audit  approach  has  been  applied  to  the distribution system in the city of Kalol, in the state of Gujarat in India. Kalol has a high level  of NRW but also suffers from a shortfall in its own water resources, forcing the local body to  augment  supply  with  the  addition of  untreated  water  from  ground  water  sources,  forcing
