Title: Safeguarding drinking water provisioning in urban informal settlements: Lessons from Dhaka and Dar es Salaam

This Paper is a safe drinking water and sustainable sanitation comparative study of two Cities: Dhaka and Dar Es Salaam.

The main challenges for Slums/informal settlement and the urban poor are that drinking water provisioning prioritized over faecal sludge and sewage removal. Subsequently, faecal contamination of potable water pathways in a critical zone around the home is a central phenomenon to eradicate when designing and implementing affordable and sustainable Citywide Sanitation for all.
