Compendium des Technologies d’Assainissement dans les situations d’urgence

Download – Compendium des Technologies d’Assainissement dans les situations d’urgence

Title: Compendium of Sanitation Technologies in Emergency Situations

While sanitation has the potential to save lives, poorly implemented or managed sanitation is ineffective. Experience shows that to protect lives, we need to look beyond the toilet and consider the entire sanitation chain, which also includes the collection, transport, treatment, disposal or safe use of sanitation products. The complexity of this topic, combined with the wide variety of contexts and crisis situations, remains a challenge for many organisations and is a well identified gap in the sector.

This publication makes an essential contribution to the sector, providing an excellent capacity building and decision support tool for sanitation solutions in humanitarian contexts. It also contributes to the complementarity between humanitarian and development work in the field of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).
